Kids’ Fun Packs to help the younger ones celebrate the Independence Day weekend are a new  feature of this year’s Ashland Rotary Club’s July 4th Fireworks celebration.

The free fun packs will be available to the first 200 children who show up Friday July 2 from noon-4 p.m. at the Rotary tent in the parking lot of Armstrong Cable, 1215 Claremont Ave.  The fun pack bags include glow sticks, fun dip, bendable neon toys, hacky sack balls, bubbles, candy and popcorn. They are limited to 3 per family.

Also, there’s still time to buy a Fireworks 50/50 Super Raffle ticket from Rotary Club members, online at ashlandrotary.net or at Armstrong Cable. The deadline is 5 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $100 each, with a maximum of 150 being sold.

The winning ticket will be drawn live during the fireworks pre-show, beginning at 9:15 p.m. Sunday on WRDL-88.9 FM and the Rotary Club’s Facebook page.
