Something exciting is happening at the former Lincoln Street School site! What was once a vacant green space along 11th Street and Troy Road is about to become a vibrant, multi-generational gathering spot for our entire community: Lincoln Park Playground & Dog Park.

Through a strong public-private partnership between the City of Ashland and the Rotary Club of Ashland (via the Rotary Service Foundation), we are turning this historic location into an inclusive, accessible recreational landmark designed for families, youth, and pet owners alike.

πŸ—οΈ What’s Coming to Lincoln Park Playground & Dog Park?

The new park layout is packed with amenities tailored to all ages:

  • πŸ• Dedicated Dog Park: Separate, secure enclosures for Large Dogs and Small Dogs featuring agility equipment and perimeter fencing.
  • πŸ€ Full Basketball Court: Fully funded thanks to a generous commitment from the Norma Foundation!
  • πŸ› Playground & Pavilion: $150,000 in playground equipment secured by the City, anchored by a covered gathering pavilion shelter.
  • 🌳 Shade & Seating: Weather-resistant park benches, picnic tables, and 8 Honey Locust trees planted across the grounds for natural canopy and shade.

πŸ“ˆ Project Status & Construction Timeline

We are thrilled to share that momentum is moving fast!

  • Construction Begins: August 1, 2026
  • Fundraising Progress: $61,000 of our $81,000 goal has already been committed!

We are now raising the final $20,000 to bring this vision across the finish line before the end of the year.
