She is putting her MBA from Bowling Green State University to good use while embracing the power of storytelling she learned at Carnegie Mellon University where she completed her BFA in Drama, emphasis in Production Technology and Management."

From BGSU: Katherine Eboch is an MBA student with an unusual academic background. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in production technology and management with emphasis in stage management, production management, and technical direction. Based on her theatre experience, she makes many connections on the service and nonprofit aspects of supply chain management. Since starting her MBA, Eboch has excelled in leadership and earned remarkable accolades. She was awarded the Jill Carr Outstanding Graduate Student Award at the Graduate Student Senate Awards ceremony and the Capital One ISM Scholarship to attend the ISM 2016 Conference in Indianapolis, which encouraged her to cultivate a supply chain environment that is diverse, innovative and disruptive. She was also selected to participate in BGSU's LeaderShape Institute, a six-day retreat which pushes students to develop leadership skills with integrity. Eboch continues to serve as the vice president of marketing and communications for the Women in Business Leadership student organization, and as part of the incoming executive board, she participated in the Penn State Powerful Women Paving the Way conference in April. Additionally, she served as president of SCMA, where she participated in the MidAtlantic District Competition and helped coordinate numerous events. When she finishes her presidential role with SCMA, she will move to an awards commitment for fall. Besides her career achievements, Eboch continues to work to give back to the community. In September, she received the 2016 APICS Student Voluntary Service Award in September. She was also designated as a Rotary Zones 28 & 29 “40 under 40” Young Professional and attended the organization’s summit in Cleveland. She maintains her involvement in local theatre as well, while also working as a graduate assistant with the Center for Community and Civic Engagement; she said she hopes to continue working in the nonprofit arts sector after graduation. An education abroad experience in Strasbourg, France during the first summer session will add an international perspective to her future leadership success.

October 24 is World Polio Day and Rotary Club of Ashland will be hosting a Putt Putt Against Polio Fundraiser for Rotary International's End Polio Now campaign. From 1:00-9:00 pm at the Brookside Park Mini Golf. Cost is $3/adult and $2/child age 12 and under. All fees will go to End Polio Now and the Gates Foundation will match our contribution 2:1. MESA - Medical Equipment & Supplies Abroad is a 501(c)3 non-profit and was formed in 1981 by the Rotary Clubs of Northwest Ohio District 6600.
MESA collects and sends medical and educational materials around the globe. In the United States, there is a huge wealth of usable medical equipment and supplies that are no longer in service.
The second-hand surplus in our conuntry is often state-of-the-art to the healing needs of developing countries. Rotarians have the resources to collect, sort, identify, store and ship millions of dollars of still-usable medical supplies and equipment.
The supplies and equpment go from MESA's warehouse in Forstoria, into a shipping container, and then into the port of a local Rotary Club for distribution.
"It really helps people all over the world and helps recycle medical equipment rather than being thrown away or discarded. MESA is also in partnership with Resource Centers International specifcally for computers and educational equipment.
We have the resources to collect, store, and ship millions of dollars of usable medical and humanitarian equipment and supplies. You are the key. MESA's efforts in getting surplus equipment and supplies into the right hands would not be possible without your help. 

Andy was born in Hubbard, OH, is married to Adrienne, and has three grown children, James, William, and Daniel.
He was the Rotary District 6600 International Service Chair 2022-2025.
Andy says, "Attending MESA meetings sparked my interest in expanding the Marion Rotary Club's impact.
He is passionate about helping clubs find new and exciting ways to have a significant international impact.

Lee Peters has been involved in Rotary since 1999 and is member of his 5th Rotary club in Ashland, Ohio. Lee is the currently the District Governor Elect, and will begin his term as District Governor in 2027. Lee has held many different leadership positions in Rotary. In addition to Rotary, Lee is an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and Alpha Phi Omega, a coed service fraternity based on the ideals of the Scout oath and the Scout law. He also volunteers with the OSU Ashland County Alumni Association and is a board member of the Great Western Academy in Columbus. Lee retired from health care logistic. Lee and his wife Dawn have two adult sons and reside in Ashland. Lee exemplifies the Rotary moto of “Service Above Self”!

Mr. Rotary himself, Lee Peters, will share highlights of his trips to Taiwan and Cambodia.
Lee traveled to Taipei, Taiwan in June and joined more than 37,000 Rotarians for the Rotary International Convention 2026.
In November, he participated in Sustainable Cambodia. This program is an Rotarian led non-profit that empowers rural Cambodian families by helping them create a sustainable quality of life with safe water and sanitation, sustainable incomes, healthy food, and quality education for their children.

Kayla Selan is a graduate of Ashland High School and currently a junior at Cleveland State University. Kayla plays trombone and euphonium and is studying conducting. In 2022, Kayla attended a performance by Rodney Marsalis, after which she told her high school band director Marty Kral, "I want to be a conductor." Mr. Kral reached out to the Ashland Symphony Orchestra's Music Director and Conductor Michael Repper to see if he could help. Mr. Repper is a firm believer in encouraging students to follow their passion, and he agreed to help Kayla in any way he could including giving her conducting lessions. At just 17 years old, Kayla made her conducting debut when she guest conducted the Ashland Symphony Orchestra!
Now in college, Kayla has the opportunity to conduct several student ensembles. She spends time studying music scores and observing conductors in rehearsals. She takes notes, consults with the conductors, and gives musicians rehearsal notes. She has made several guest appearances with the Ashland Symphony Orchestra.
In May 2026, Kayla was a guest on the Kelly Clarkson show. Kayla will share her journey from dream to reality, what is was like to meet her idol, and how community support is helping her reach her goal.

Most of us make resolutions to eat healthily and we have all seen food costs rise; how can we get the best bang for our buck at the grocery store?
March is National Nutrition Month and Registered Dietitian Suellen McBurney will share tips on how to make cost effective healty choices. 

Suellen is a retired Registered Dietitian, with over 40 years of practice, including previously Board Certified in Gerontological Nutrition. She owned a private practice for over 17 years, and has maintained her license, credentials, and continuing education.
She has had a life-long interest and experience in Geriatric Nutrition, prevention and treatment of chronic illness and disease.
She led a team of over 1000 women in 33 states, as one of the first 13 top Senior Directors for a new National Direct Selling company (with eventually over 40,000 consultants). Her team sold over 3.4 million dollars in product their highest year, remained in the top 25 teams annually, and for 2 years, promoted the most directors. She organized and led numerous training events and conferences, in multiple states, during her 10 year leadership as an independent consultant for this company and led weekly leadership training calls and zoom calls.
She is a Deacon for the First Presbyterian Church of Ashland and has also been a Presbyterian Elder and Sunday School teacher.
Suellen currently teaches the Nutrition class for the Learn and Earn program at Ashland Pregnancy Care Center, volunteers twice a month in their boutique, and coordinates as a Table Host for their Annual Fundraising Dinner. Suellen is a member of the Ashland Symphony Orchestra's Board of Directors.

Martha Buckner is the Executive Director of the Ashland Symphony Orchestra. She is also the music teacher for the Ashland County Board of Developmental Disabilities Dale-Roy School. 
She served on the ASO Board of Directors from 2012-2014. Prior to joining the staff of the ASO, she served as the Supervisor of Bookmobile and Outreach at the Ashland Public Library and was the President of the national Association of Bookmobiles and Outreach Services in 2013. Martha has a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from The Ohio State University. Martha brings to the ASO her dedication to the organization and her passion for music and outreach. She occasionally participates in the music programs at Christ United Methodist Church, Ashland, and has been a member of the Ashland Musical Club for many years. She is a member of Rotary Club of Ashland, an Ambassador for the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, was recognized as an Ashland County Woman of Achievement in 2016, and is a former member and past-president of local chapter FJ of P.E.O.
In her spare time, Martha loves to garden, collect hats, and play with her cats Whiskey, Skipper, and Grace O'Malley.

It highlights the necessity of equitable access to high-quality music education, emphasizing its role in students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
Club member, music teacher, and advocate for music education Martha Buckner will lead Club members in some fun, interactive music activities. You do not need to play an instrument or read music to participate!
